The ashram provides food everyday to numerous tribal children and devotees. Food is also provided as daan to any hungry person who comes to the ashram’s doorstep.

Bhagawan Krishna has expounded in Bhagawad Gita:

“Aham Vaiswanaro bhootva, praaninaam deham asrithah,”

(which means that God resides in all the beings as Vaiswanara or hunger)

Annadaanam is giving of food as Prasad. As long as there is hunger in any life form, if we do not feed the hungry, we are indeed committing sin. A society that is conscious of its responsibility towards the poor, needy & hungry children of God, sets in motion a wave of dharmic energy which vitalises us all.

It is given to each one of us to feed the hungry to the limits of our capacity. Let us restore ‘annadaanam’ as the primary dharma in our homes and our temples.

Tribals are taught here to chant Mantras before they start eating - to thank God for the food that is served in front of them. Many tribal children were taught by us how to wash hands, to eat with the right  hand etc.

Teaching the greatness of annadaana mahatmya to Yudhishthira, Sri Krishna says (Bhavishyapurana):

“The world both animate and inanimate is sustained by food…

The giver of food is the giver of life.

Therefore, one who is desirous of well-being in this world

and beyond, should make special endeavour to give food”.
